Youth Policy Event On Legislative Transparency In Jigawa State
On the 12th October 2016, OCCEN Jigawa youth network organized one day policy roundtable on legislative transparency. The event was held at Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Conference hall, Dutse, Jigawa state with participants from youth wing of political parties, CSOs, media and some selected State house of assemble members
On the 12th October 2016, OCCEN Jigawa youth network organized one day policy roundtable on legislative transparency. The event was held at Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Conference hall, Dutse, Jigawa state with participants from youth wing of political parties, CSOs, media and some selected State house of assemble members. The meeting was opened officially by the OCCEN state coordinator. A lot of discussions on critical issues regarding legislative procedures, transparency and fighting against corruption in Nigeria was discuss as a background. During the second segment of the discussion, chairman Jigawa state civil society forum lamented that the aim of the roundtable was to review and take stock of important legislations at both state and national level that have impacted the lives of Jigawa citizens negatively, due to lack of proper consultation with citizens.
